garden gnomes are funny things.
i wonder what they really do besides just being there.
there are some pretty interesting ones around my neighborhood, from frogs in suits to fat toads to bugs to creepy cherubs to creepy angels to dwarfs to cute asian animals to penguins to deathly looking figurines to a polar bear hugging a fake full blooming plant (isn't something wrong with that pic?) etc etc.
so i took a bunch of pics of them with my D80. i think i looked like a crouching stalker ready to strike.

oh the other day also when i was taking pics of this old guy's huge yard of trees that looked really interesting (and disastrous), he came out of the house and was like "hey you", i was like oh crap i must've invaded his personal space! turned out he was just warning me about those plants because they were poison ivies. then he kept on talking and we actually had a 20 min conversation lol. by the time he finished talking, i was wiping sweat from my face and neck from standing in the sun.

after the thunderstorm last night, my neighbor's plants got messed up and gnomes were all knocked over. for some reason, i couldn't stop from laughing. i was sad about the plants though.
i guess my teeny problem still needs to be cured

i think i'm gonna have an anxiety attack soon. verrry soon. i can almost feel it in this ominous atmosphere.

one more day, then i'm off to RISD. wow, time really flies...but i'm kinda happy (mixed with a nauseous feeling because i got a cold).

i just got my fall schedule a few minutes ago. in an instant, all my feelings of joy evaporated and were replaced by the following facial expressions: , , , and finally.... so yea, my schedule's chicken poop. most of my weekdays are full day classes that start at 8:30 in the morning.

on mondays, i finish at 8:30 pm
tuesdays, i go home at 6:00 pm
wedsdays: 8:30 pm
thursdays: 6:00 pm
and fridays, i finally wrap things up with 8 hours of foundation drawing ending at 5:00 pm.

and i already got one assignment due on the first day of class. GAHHH!!!
BUT, i shall not perish and be scared by the challenge like a dumb rubber chicken, and i will work my ass off (if it's absolutely necessary).

seriously though...i'm gonna be mad sleep deprived, i'll go BONKERrrrS!!
no joke

tick...tock...

waiting is excruciatingly painful
and anticipation shall be the death of me.

so today, i went to the city with a friend to walk around. initially i wanted to go to the museum to get inspired before school started because my creative energy has been hanging on a thread lately; but we went to times square instead.
while there, i found my new favorite store: MUJI. everything there is from japan, and i swear, that store is so freakin neat. literally. it's also really clean and sanitized, and all of their products are practical, simple, and elegant. i stayed in there for a long time because the place was just felt so fresh, and 99% perfect.

so i bought a very plain 7x10 sketchbook with a white cover and newsprint paper inside neatly bound with stitching on the spine (my ideal kind) to use for spontaneous thoughts/ideas and sketches. i was like jumping with joy when i saw it because i never saw that kind anywhere. and it was really cheap.

i also got a pack of thin notebooks each bound on the side with different colors and has soft cardboard covers. i used to use the moleskine ones, but the pages were way darker and therefore they looked ominous and depressing, and they were double the price as well.
i'm really not fond of those staple's or five star spiral notebooks. they leave marks on my wrist when i write because i'm a lefty, and therefore make me look like i'm suicidal, with red slashes on my skin. their blue lines on the pages also look deranged and unhealthy and damaged and the paper quality is sad.
i'm very picky when it comes to the things i draw and write on.

and finally, i purchased a large dark canvas bag for my art supplies and books and stuff for school. i was searching for a bag that is both sturdy and simple yet good looking, and i finally found it. woohoo! it's oober comfy on my shoulder, and since it has a gazillion pockets, i will never have to worry about my tools and other objects having a party inside my bag.

yay! hehee..

just a few random thoughts:

1. the monk and psych season premiers are tonight!!!!
monk gets a new psychologist and gus is planning on quitting shawn's fake psychic business.

2. there's this really annoying and arrogant guy who works at the stop & shop near my house and he's been my cashier three times and every time i see him i wanna rip out his ---beep--- and feed them to my neighbor's german shepherd. floyd likes meat. muahahahaaaaaaaa ~

3. Klimt's "the kiss" makes my heart melt every time i see it. i think it's the most romantic painting ever created

4. idon'tlikehimidon'tlikehim, etc. if i keep saying this, i just might believe it. i'm seeing him in 9 days. gosh darn it!!!!

5. what the freakapoodle's wrong with me?!?! i'm becoming some stupid lovesick teenager who's got polluted carbonated water inside her head. i need to fix myself, quick.

6. homemade frozen yogurt is mad tasty. i almost hurt myself trying to spoon a chunk of frozen yogurt

7. yesterday i saw this Cezanne special on Gallery HD and while they were showing an extreme close up of one of his still lives, i was somehow mesmerized by a green and pinkish and yellowish pear. my mom thought it was kinda scary cuz i was staring at the screen for a long time.

8. i like (to receive) postcards and letters.

9. the book i'm reading is extremely messed up in a goofy way and hilarious as hell. i was cracking up when i was reading it at barnes & noble's, and the guy sitting next to me turned to me and said, "am i sitting too close to you? do you feel claustrophobic?" i said it's ok, it's not you it's me. he was staring into space the whole time and his chair was actually unnervingly close to mine.

10. postcards that are found in souvenir shops and have a glossy shine with pictures of big cities and nice landscapes with blue skies are irritating as hell.

11. disney (not the hanah montana crap) mugs are oober adorable!!!!

12. i can't sleep at night. it's beyond aaaaawful.

13. i got a 4 for AP art history, yayyy! i thought i was gonna get a 2 cuz that was like the hardest test ever with multiple choice quesions that fried my brain cells and 9 essays that impaired my hand's functional abilities.

14. i got a 5 for AP studio art!!! heheee ~ mission accomplished!
